I want an Iphone

Money is the biggest hurdle in my longing for an iPhone. My life as a poor but ever knowledgeable student permits me to a life of poorness, therefore my dream of an iPhone is one of a very distant reality.
It's not like I would die without an iPhone it's just they are so cool.
Firstly they function as a mobile, a portable way to receive phone calls no matter where you are; to receive texts and navigate and co-ordinate ones schedule perhaps even one's life with others you're in contact with.

Secondly it's a platform to connect with Internet. Which opens up multiple possibilities, especially with applications. You can download applications like "Sound Hound", the song searching application where you can hold the iPhone up to a speaker which is playing music, upon where it will search in order to find the artist, name, date etc - it may even provide lyrics. There is also the application called "a true universal remote" where this application claims to act as a universal remote to your household appliances; saying goodbye to copious amounts of remotes.

Thirdly it's an iPod. The earlier model of an iPhone [the 3GS] has 8GB of memory which means that you can upload a fair chunk of your musical play list; along with photos, iBooks etc. This aspect also incorporates the necessity (in this day and age) of the mobile phone with the personal identification that we associate with our music choices (corresponding to our personality). The phone becomes more connected to who we are and we interact with it on a more personal level. Generally speaking, it seems as if the iPhone is the kind of future technology is creating for itself - a Multi-faceted super device

The main reason towards my lusting desire towards wanting an iPhone is because I like this idea of convergence technology- not having to lug around multiple gadgets in order to most efficiently live my day to day life with fulfillment. Carrying a phone, an iPod, a laptop- its all very tiresome at the end of the day; the iPhone eliminates this hassle. The iPhone provides me with a compact and stylish way to access the Internet, contact via mobile phone and listen to my iPod- it is even a way to fight crime:

  2. There are other smart phones almost as good as the iphone. Is is really paying a 1000 dollars when you can get some thing as good for half the price?
